morning. radar is pretty quiet. there is a little bit of rainfall but all of that is very much so on the light side. we have break for the next several hours because the leading edge of the rain still to the south and west of louisville. i'll be tracking it overnight and let you know how much rain we should expect as we head into your thursday. mike: kev, we'll talk to you later. thank you. a bomb threat in boone county, and the woman accused of calling it in was an assistant principal at the time. wlwt news 5's emily wood. is live at conner middle school tonight, with more on what investigators found out emily? emily: boone county schools says jennifer warford was the assistant principal, at this middle school when she was accused of calling in the threat to a florence restaurant last month. according to court records warford claimed she was having a panic attack and called police. a month ago, the defendant, jennifer warford claims she overheard people at logan's roadhouse talking about hating

bomb. boone county court documents say warford called 911 dispatchers and stated, 'somebody just reported a bomb at logan's in florence. please hurry. then hung up. dispatchers called warford back and she denied making the call, but admitted during a follow-up interview that she was in fact the original caller and lied to officers. warford currently faces one count of falsely reporting an incident. last week the conner middle school facebook page posted this statement, we wanted to let you know that mrs. jennifer warford has accepted a transfer to cooper high school and will no longer be with us for the remainder of the year. parents we spoke with at conner middle school did not want to comment on camera but said they are shocked by the allegations

comment. mike: emily, thank you. warford is scheduled to be arraigned in boone county court on march 21'st. she is currently an instructional coach at cooper high school. sheree: making sure madison junior/senior high is safe. that was the mission tonight as parents and school leaders brainstormed ideas. to learn from and grow from last weeks school shooting. wlwt news 5's tammy mutasa was there for the meeting and has the new plans. tammy? tammy:sheree, parents tell me they feel confident the district is doing everything they can to move forward and come up with new safety strategies. as you can imagine, this community is still shaken up by this shooting. >> i read the first line. there has been a shooting. my heart just stopped. tammy:the school shooting is now behind them - the focus moving forward is, what's going to change from a safety and security standpoint. >> the biggest thing is kids need

time because i think that could have prevented that situation. tammy:the district is looking back and to see what could have done differently the day accused shooter austin hancock come school with a gun, opened fire leaving four students hurt. a little and i think that's going to take a while to go away but ultimately we've moved on and we're back to education. tammy:metal detectors won't be out an anonymous tip-line is in the plus looking at 3d signage to make it easier for first responders to find classrooms from the hallway. >> looking at had the scenario been different, you know had it not been in the cafeteria and in a classroom or in another building, what would have helped them when they arrived on the scene. tammy:last monday this community didn't think they'd be concerned about safety. but how they'll recover is what matters most. >> so you feel good about what you heard? yes, yes.

putting up speakers in this elementary school cafeteria for the kitchen workers. officials say they didn't hear the lockdown announcement on the day of the shooting. sheree: tomorrow the district will be meeting with the elementary parents at 6pm. if parents from junior and senior high did not make it tonight, they are welcome to attend tomorrow night's meeting. it's official, the gop presidential front-runner is coming right here to cincinnati. mike: donald trump's campaign announced he'll be stopping in cincinnati this sunday. he'll be heading to the duke energy convention center at noon. eric deters, who is chairing trump's campaign in northern kentucky, says his visit sunday is huge. >> i think that the recognition of donald trump coming into dayton on saturday and cincinnati on sunday is a recognition of the trump campaign that to beat kasich in ohio he needs to do this visit .

significant that in this trip to cincinnati on sunday will win ohio for trump. mike: in the latest polls, trump and kasich battling back and forth for first and second. the latest poll has kasich by 5% but in another poll trump is leading by 6 pkt. sheree: on the democratic side candidates are reacting to the tight race in last night's bernie sanders won by two% over here's what they said about the news debate. >> we've had some of those. i've won some, i've lost some. but i was very pleased by the overall outcome last night and next tuesday. >> long way in 10 months. american history. sheree: former president, bill clinton, made a swing through ohio today, on his wife's behalf. he ended his day in dayton, where he said that hillary is the best change-maker he's ever known. and that if ohio supports her she will win the white house. ohio's primary is on tuesday. mike: new at 11 -- a 19-year-old is now facing charges in a december car crash that killed two teenage brothers. court documents show, terrance cook, is charged after the wreck along reading road in roselawn. 16-year-old djohnte wilson and 14-year-old anthony craddock died in the crash. cook, has been indicted on two counts of vehicular homicide. along with vehicular assault, cook has not been arrested. sheree: two cincinnati officers accused of covering up a crash involving a fellow officer. are acquitted of all charges. sergeant richard sulfsted and officer jason cotterman have been suspended from the force since last september. when witnesses accused district

mitchell of driving drunk and crashing. cotterman and sulfsted were facing six charging. including dereliction of duty and obstructing justice for not arresting t today judge bercowitz said. there were too many inconsistencies in the testimony for him to convict cotterman and sulfsted on any of the charges, both officers will now be re-instated. mike: a butler county teenager will never be allowed to drive again after a crash that killed his friend the morning after christmas. today tristan lacey apologized to the family of 18-year-old mark valentine. who died in december in a crash in beckett ridge in the west chester area. police say lacey was drunk when he lost control and crashed. he also had a suspended license and shouldn't have even been behind the wheel. in today's sentencing, lacey said driving that night was the biggest mistake of his life. >> at night memories of mark and i race through my head. when i finally fall asleep, i'm haunted with nightmares from that night. getting in the car that night was the biggest regret of my

to six years in prison and given a lifetime driving ban. sheree: a carrollton couple is now connection with the death of their 4-day-old son. lisa payton and jarod martin were originally charged with criminal abuse, now a grand jury indicted them both for murder and wanton endangerment. their baby died in august. court documents show payton admitted she was under the fell off the couch while she was feeding him. a middletown couple ordered to counseling for having eight children living in their filthy home. katina and anthony gevedon plead guilty to child endangering. the two were arrested in january after police conducted a welfare check at their home. the couple were sentenced to 90 days in jail but do not need serve the time, if they attend classes from children's services. mike: a former ohio priest is facing a theft charge after an investigation into the church he served.

simone is accused of stealing $1.5 million from saint peter catholic church,, in huber heights, just northeast of dayton. the church was investigated for financial irregularities last year. simone has since resigned as priest. sheree: happening now, construction has shut down part of i-71, near the lytle tunnel. crews are working on the southbound lanes just south of the reading road exit. the right lane is closed through five tomorrow morning. expect other lane closures, and a closure of the third street ramp later this week. mike: attacked in a parking garage by a man with a knife. sheree: the surprise the victim in the hospital. kevin: the steady soaking rains are still several hours away.

time on wlwt.com. again, we are confirming there has been a homicide here. caught on camera a kentucky woman fights back, in a terrifying attack inside a parking garage. mike: now that victim is speaking out, as surveillance images, provide new insight. reporter: chilling new insight from a woman who not only survived but fought back in a frightening attack surveillance video captured the uneasy moments in louisville's 4th street live parking garage. police say john ganobick followed the woman through a food court and on to an elevator. that's where the victim first noticed ganobick. she said he appeared out of it and made her nervous. ganobick became even more alarmed when the suspect told his victim that he was getting off on her same floor. just a few feet after getting off that elevator she took off running saying she feared he would try to get in her car or worse, maybe he could rape or kill her. attacked her with a knife demanding cash. in an instant she turned the tables by pulling a gun out of

the neck and backside. today she told our sister station in louisville quote - i am still attempting to heal both physically and emotionally from this ordeal adding that quote i never want another woman to be the victim of a violent crime such as this. mike: ganobick staggered to a nearby plaza where someone called 9-1-1. he ended up going to hospital. he is charged with attempted murder, robbery and kidnapping. sheree: swastikas turn up at two indiana colleges. officials at purdue and the university of indianapolis are condemning the symbols adopted by the nazis. one was found scratched into a statue, the other on a white board outside an office. no arrests have been reported. the final goodbyes to former first lady nancy reagan have already start. today, house speaker paul ryan paid his respects shortly after her casket arrived at the ronald reagan presidential library. she will lay in repose through tomorrow.

friday, where nancy reagan will be buried next her late husband. mike: lawmakers are pushing the fda to create a vaccine for the zika virus. a bill sponsored by u.s. senator sherrod brown fom ohio has passed committee and is heading to the full senate. the measure encourages the timely development of a vaccine by adding zika to an fda priority list. putting new restrictions on teenagers and tanning in the bluegrass state. a bill that would ban anyone under the age of 18 from using a tanning bed is moving forward tonight in the kentucky senate. right now kids between the ages of 14 and 18 have to have a signed parental consent form to use a tanning bed. the bill with the tougher age restrictions passed committee today and now goes to the full senate. sheree: an update tonight on the unique transplant surgery at the cleveland clinic that gave women hope that if they couldn't otherwise possibly in the future

child. doctors say tonight that the nation's first uterus transplant has failed. the transplant had to be surgically removed yesterday. the 26-year-old donor recipient appeared at a press conference yesterday and doctors say she was recovering well until a sudden complication that required surgery. the hospital says it's looking at what went wrong. but still plans to move forward with 10 other uterus transplants. mike: more progress downtown on the banks. it's been nearly two years since general electric made the official announcement that it would be moving its global operations to downtown cincinnati. today, crews were in the process of getting ready to install the g.e. logo on the building. it's expected to be installed any day now the move is slated to bring about 1500 jobs to the downtown area. kevin: we have a lull lull in the rain over the next couple of hours. this plume of rain, tennessee all the way down to the memphis

its way up across the ohio valley. the winds are southwest of louisville. it will be after midnight before rain pushing back into the greater cincinnati area. there are showers across parts of southeast indiana. not much happening around here as we speak but as you head up 52 or 74, you are finding some very light shower activity in parts of butler county. this is very light as we speak. here's a look at your headlines tonight. we have a wet stretch of weather coming our way. it will take us into the weekend. in between, we'll get a break on friday. if there is a silver lining, it is at least the temperatures will be mild this go-round versus the chilly cold rain. a little bit of fog beginning to develop in areas that had rain earlier this evening. that is because well, when you

dew point, they are pretty close together. humidity up there about 96% and with the winds on the calm side, don't be surprised to find some patchy dense fog. so far we have had about 16/100 of an inch of rainfall. we still have a ways to go. a cold front out towards st. louis. that is off to our west. that is going to help funnel this area of rain. you can see this plume extends down into east texas tonight where they are dealing with serious flooding. i don't expect flooding around here. i do anticipate wet roads for your morning commute. in general, even if you get a break for an hour or two tomorrow, rain will pretty much fall throughout the afternoon and evening hours. the rain will be heaviest tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. that evening ride home looks very wet across the area. it looks like it will rain through dinner time tomorrow
